How To Join

If you are able or disabled and 7 years old or over having swimming lessons in Cambridge and thinking of joining a competitive swimming club, please contact our Membership Secretary by emailfor further information or advice. All our training is done at either Parkside, Abbey or Leys pools in Cambridge. Our response time is very quick please use the e-mail address link above and we will normally reply within 12 hours.

We are a thriving club with some excellent coaches and swimmers from competitve beginners up to national standard. Most likely children 10 or under would start off in the Seals, Sharks or Rookie Squads. The best thing to do is to e-mail to arrange a trial and they can have a swim with one of our groups and the coaches can advise on which squads would be best for them. Trials for under 11's are normally the first Thursday of each month. These sessions can be quite busy so it is essential to contact the Membership Secretary by email to arrange your trial. Older swimmers, including Masters, are very welcome and should also contact the Membership Secretary to arrange a trial session.

At City of Cambridge we also have a growing Disability Swimming Squad using the excellent facilities at Parkside Pools. The squad competes at open galas and at County, Regional and National Disability Championships. If you are a disabled swimmer looking to compete, e-mail Dave Horne, Head Coach of our Disability Swimming Squad to find out how to take part. Click here to take a look at our Disability Squad web page.

Just send an E-mail to the Membership Secretary a day or two before you wish to come down and he will make sure the coaches are aware that you will be coming for a swim.

After completing a trial and being advised of your squad, please download an Application Form and post it to the address on the form to finalise the process.

There is a lot of information about the club on this website. Initially you should look at at the Membership Information section which covers most aspects of the club's organisation.

Volunteers

The club is run entirely by volunteers who are usually parents of current swimmers. The club depends on the help of volunteers. To ensure that you are properly covered by ASA insurance and to comply with our Constitution, all helpers, coaches, teachers, executive committee members and officials must be part members of the club.

Please fill in this Application Form and return it to the Membership Secretary at the address below, as we cannot function without you.

The cost of joining the club is £10 per year or part year for two persons. Please send a cheque payable to City of Cambridge Swimming Club with this completed form to the membership secretary at the address on the form. Membership is for a calendar year. The club will then pay the ASA for your individual insurances. Membership allows you to vote at the club's AGM and gives you free transport on any coaches used for travel to away galas.
